Silver Plating

Our silver-colored jewelry is made with either a copper or brass base that is plated with silver. A layer of lacquer is then applied over the plating as protection. The purpose of the lacquer is to safeguard the silver since it can react with sulfur and oxygen in the surrounding air. Without the lacquer, the jewelry may develop a black coating. This is referred to as silver oxidation.

If the lacquer wears off, the jewelry may turn yellow and then black. The jewelry can be polished to restore its silver color, but since the silver layer is limited, there is a risk of wearing it away if done too frequently. It’s also important to avoid contact with liquids to preserve the plating.

Gold Plating

Our gold-colored jewelry consists of a copper or brass base that is plated with chemical gold or 18K gold. A layer of lacquer is applied over the plating for protection.

Polishing the jewelry is acceptable, but because the gold layer is limited, there is a risk of wearing it away if done too often. It’s also important to avoid contact with liquids to maintain the plating.

Rose Gold Plating

Our rose gold-colored jewelry is made with a copper or brass base plated with a blend of copper and chemical gold. A layer of lacquer is applied over the plating for protection.

Polishing the jewelry is acceptable, but since the rose gold layer is limited, there is a risk of wearing it away if done too frequently. It’s also important to avoid contact with liquids to preserve the plating.

Stainless Steel

Our stainless steel jewelry is maintenance-free. The material is slightly darker/grayer than silver. The jewelry is durable and resistant to wear.

Do not use any polishing agents when cleaning stainless steel jewelry. Simply use a cotton cloth to rub away any stains.

Pearls

We use only genuine freshwater pearls and Mother of Pearls. Freshwater pearls come from mussels and oysters and have an irregular shape. The natural colors are white, gray, and pink. Mother of Pearls are made from the mother-of-pearl inside mussel and oyster shells. These pearls are perfectly round. Pearls can also be dyed in various colors.

Storage

To prevent the lacquer on plated jewelry from wearing off, avoid contact with skin lotion, perfumes, or water. Do not store jewelry in the bathroom.

Standards

All components of our jewelry are tested for nickel, lead, and cadmium. We adhere to EU guidelines and meet the set limits. The core of our jewelry is made from recycled metal.

Nickel allergy sufferers can often wear stainless steel jewelry with confidence because the material is so hard, and any nickel in the material is tightly bound and does not release nickel.
